Benny Hinn

Pastor Benny Hinn, born Toufik Benedictus Hinn on December 3, 1952, in Jaffa, Israel, is a renowned evangelist, teacher, and author. Best known for his healing ministry and global television program, This Is Your Day, Pastor Hinn has impacted millions of lives with his teachings and miracles. His program is broadcast daily in over 170 countries, making it one of the world’s most-watched Christian programs. Through his ministry’s website, app, and social media outlets, he continues to reach millions of people worldwide, many of whom would not otherwise have access to the Gospel message.

Hinn’s family emigrated from Israel to Toronto, Canada, in 1968 following the Six-Day War. Raised in the Eastern Orthodox tradition, Benny had a challenging childhood, facing social isolation and a speech impediment. His life changed dramatically in February 1972 when he surrendered his heart to Christ during a prayer meeting with friends. Soon after, he felt a divine calling to preach the Gospel. In 1974, he experienced a vision of people falling into a roaring inferno, and a voice told him, “If you do not preach, every soul that falls will be your responsibility.” Four days after his 22nd birthday, Benny Hinn preached for the first time, and his lifelong stuttering problem was miraculously healed.

In 1983, Hinn founded the Orlando Christian Center in Florida, where his ministry began to flourish. Known for his “Miracle Crusades,” massive faith-healing events held in stadiums worldwide, he gained international recognition. These crusades have drawn millions, including a record-breaking 7.3 million attendees in India over three services—the largest healing service in recorded history. Hinn’s straightforward, faith-filled message has inspired countless people to deepen their relationship with God.

Benny Hinn’s ministry has expanded globally through television, books, and digital media. His 30-minute program This Is Your Day airs on major Christian networks, including TBN, Daystar, and The God Channel. Additionally, he has authored best-selling books like Good Morning, Holy Spirit, which delves into his experiences with the Holy Spirit and has been translated into multiple languages.

Beyond his preaching and teaching, Pastor Hinn’s ministry actively supports humanitarian efforts. His organization partners with missions worldwide to provide food, shelter, and education to children in need, feeding over 100,000 children annually and supporting more than 40,000 daily. The ministry also funds My Father’s House children’s homes in Mexico and Asia, as well as crisis relief and hospital care.

Hinn is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of Christian leaders. Influenced by pioneers like Kathryn Kuhlman, Oral Roberts, and Lester Sumrall, he continues to train pastors and laypeople through his Benny Hinn School of Ministry and the World Healing Fellowship.

Though his ministry has faced challenges, including public criticism and personal struggles, Hinn has remained steadfast in his mission to preach the Gospel. In 2010, his marriage to Suzanne Harthern, whom he married in 1979, faced difficulties, leading to their divorce. However, the couple reconciled in 2012, crediting their renewed faith and commitment to God, and they remarried in March 2013 in a ceremony attended by Christian leaders worldwide.

Today, Pastor Benny Hinn continues to spread the life-saving message of Jesus Christ through his crusades, broadcasts, and writings. With over 45 years in ministry, he remains devoted to fulfilling the Great Commission, bringing hope, healing, and the Gospel to the world. His corporate headquarters, the World Healing Center Church, is based in Grapevine, Texas. Pastor Hinn’s tireless dedication ensures his legacy as a bridge-builder, evangelist, and global ambassador for Christ.
