Frances Hunter and her husband Charles are revered in the body of Christ as two of the most fervent and inspired evangelists in recorded history. They served all around the world and were referred to as The Happy Hunters, where they saw incredible healings. Wherever they went, they spread their heavenly Father’s teachings, acts of love and compassion, and healing powers. Their zeal for everything that God had to offer quickly caught on. Charles Hunter in 2010 and Frances Hunter in 2009 then moved on to spend eternity with the Lord. Over the course of their 40-year missionary career, they had a significant impact on several people’s lives. Joan says she had clear recollections of the occasion when Gene Lilly beat multiple sclerosis. She goes on to say that he came into the building on a walker, was completely healed of MS, and was slain in the Spirit. My feet hurt,” he adds as he rises up. At this time, he had gone years without feeling his feet. It came out that his shoes were too small—his wife had been buying him shoes that were too small—so they went out and purchased him some normal-sized shoes that fit his foot properly. Healings like this were commonplace for the Hunters. They prayed for people often and saw them being “slain in the Spirit,” as we like to say in the charismatic community, as well as being miraculously healed of ailments and oddities. Since Frances Hunter did not experience an early age of salvation, unlike many evangelists, she is especially interesting. She was 49 years old when she gave her heart to Christ. (This was before she began seeing Charles and being married.) Joan remembers it well. When her mother became a Christian at the age of 12, she was so inspired by the change Frances underwent that she desired for Jesus to come into her own life. When Frances gave her heart to the Lord, she genuinely started to fall in love with Jesus. Joan said that Frances had a reputation for working hard. Frances proclaimed to everyone that since she was so committed to Jesus, she would never be married again. Frances and Charles came together to form an unique ministry team. In every way, the “Happy Hunters” lived true to their name. They constantly treated one another and Jesus with such delight and kindness. Frances wrote more than 70 books throughout the course of her ministry, and once she married Charles, she forced the publishers to change all of those works to reflect her new name. The two went far as they shared the gospel. In this book, you will learn some information about Charles and Frances Hunter. The lessons you will discover from their lives and missions will also be a blessing for you.
